Formatting Dates in Excel

If you add a date to Excel it may not come up the way you want it to look. It is pretty clever it usually remembers the way you typed in the date and remembers the format, the problem is if you want to change the format, even if you type it on differently it comes up in the same format. You may also have changed your mind and want to type in a number instead but now it shows as a date.

If you want to display the day of the week then that is possible through custom formatting and I’ll show you how to do that too.

Here in this video tutorial I’ll show you how to set and change the formatting of a date, what to do if a number is showing a date and how to display the day of the week.
